Terms of Service

These terms cover your use of Costfolio (“the app”).

Operator

The following operator provides the app and is responsible for how personal data is handled.

1. Service scope

This app helps users record subscriptions, recurring costs, payment dates, renewal dates, term end dates, billing time zones, and change history. It does not provide financial, tax, legal, cancellation agency, payment agency, or billing guarantee services.

2. Account and cloud save

Local use does not require an account. A Costfolio account used for cloud save, purchases, or invite access requires supported Apple or Google sign-in. You agree to the version of the Terms, Privacy Policy, and Cloud save notice shown at the time only when you review them and complete the app's consent action. An important change may require renewed consent before an affected feature is used.

3. User responsibility

You are responsible for checking service names, amounts, renewal dates, cancellation dates, term end dates, billing time zones, payment methods, and history entries. Always confirm actual billing, contract status, cancellation status, and payment amounts with each service provider, email, invoice, or card statement.

4. Reminders

Reminders are a convenience feature. Reminder dates are calculated from the billing time zone saved on each contract period, then scheduled on the device OS. They may be missed, delayed, or duplicated due to device, OS, permissions, battery settings, network state, time changes, app deletion, or platform restrictions. To the extent allowed by law, the operator is not liable for missed renewals, missed cancellations, or payments caused by reminder failure or delay.

5. Data operations and CSV copies

Cloud save, restore, merge, CSV import, local-data deletion, and Costfolio account deletion run based on user actions. Restore replaces local data, and delete operations may be irreversible. Account deletion does not remove local data on this device and does not automatically cancel or refund a store purchase. When data is important, keep your own CSV copy of the current fixed-cost list. CSV is not a full restore file for history or review logs.

6. Prohibited use

You must not perform unauthorized access, service disruption, rights infringement, unlawful acts, false transmissions, excessive load, reverse engineering, or other actions the operator reasonably considers inappropriate.

7. Paid features and commerce notices

Costfolio offers Pro Unlock as a one-time purchase and Cloud Pass as an automatically renewing monthly or yearly subscription. Available products, price, billing currency, trial availability, and renewal period may vary by region and purchasing store. The details displayed by the App Store or Google Play before purchase apply.

Purchases, cancellation, and refund requests are handled by the purchasing store. Access normally remains until the end of a paid period after cancellation, but deleting the Costfolio account ends any remaining access and deletes cloud data. Account deletion alone does not cancel a store subscription or issue a refund. Invite-code or trial access is separate from a store purchase.

8. Service changes and termination

The operator may add, change, suspend, or terminate features. Continuous operation and data return after service termination are not always guaranteed. The operator will try to provide prior notice and export options where practical.

9. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The app is provided as is. To the extent allowed by law, the operator is not liable for data loss, cloud save or restore failure, reminder failure, calculation errors, service interruption, third-party service failures, missed cancellations, payments, or lost profits.

10. Governing law and jurisdiction

The governing law is Japan law, and Japanese courts have jurisdiction. Mandatory local laws, privacy laws, consumer protection laws, and App Store / Google Play platform rules still apply where required.

11. Changes to these terms

These terms may change. Important changes may be announced in the app or on a public page, and renewed consent may be requested before using important features such as cloud save.

12. Contact

For support and privacy inquiries, use the support page or contact channel shown in the app or on Costfolio's public website.
